AMIS unveils automotive grade embedded flash technology

Paul Whytock  |   ED Online ID #14172  |   November 15, 2006

Automotive grade embedded flash technology has been devloped by AMI Semiconductor and was debuted on the company's booth at electronica. It uses the company's "smart power" high voltage mixed signal SoC 0.35 micron process technology.

Combined in the device is mixed signal technology and a newly developed non volatile memory. This, says the company, allows designers to ceate smart sensor interfaces and intelligent actuators for use in harsh environments like automotive and industrial systems.

The company's HiMOS embedded memory IP also lets designers configure the size of the on board Flash memory capacity from 2 to 64 Kbytes. Memory can be delivered in single bank or dual bank configurations with memory retention for code storage of up to 15 years.
